Sign up to the Early Start Nutrition Award Bronze – Audit of Current Practice to:

  • achieve nutrition best practice in your setting
  • identify areas of development
  • create opportunities for home learning
  • generate evidence for Ofsted inspections.

Content

By signing up to the award you will receive access to a nutrition audit tool allowing your setting to set targets to achieve standards of nutrition excellence. You will receive tailored feedback and recommendations from a team of expert early years nutritionists.

Judgement

Once you submit your Award it will be assigned to one of our registered nutritionist for review. Your early years setting will need to submit information about your:

  • setting and why you’d like to achieve the award
  • current menu and how it’s planned to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage Nutrition Guidance
  • food and nutrition policy and how children are supported at mealtimes
  • promotion of key health messages in your setting
  • efforts to support children to learn about food and make healthy choices
  • safe preparation of food and drink.

Award

You will receive a certificate of achievement, a plaque and the Bronze award logo to use on your settings publicity. The award will be valid for one year after which you will be able to progress to the Silver Award application.

The Early Start Nutrition award is aligned to the Mayor of London’s Healthy Early Years London (HEYL) award programme meaning you’ll be able to count your Nutrition Award as evidence for HEYL.
