In recent months, we’ve had questions from settings about packed lunches and how to support families who may wish to provide food from home.

To support you in thinking about your approach and developing a clear, supportive packed lunch policy for families, we’re exploring the idea of running a packed lunch webinar for Newham early years settings.

As outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage Nutrition Guidance, 2025 it's important to ensure that food provided from home aligns with the healthy eating options offered by the setting, so that children receive consistent messages about nutrition.
